Social Text excellent for project based wikis, and also some nice mobile features

Thought Farmer wondrous work from a small outfit in Vancouver, Canada. Some very good work on a wiki platform that makes intranets easy. Neil visited them in June 2007 and was very impressed

Portal platforms

Sharepoint from Microsoft - indeed at least two law firms are presently building their own DMS to replace dominant vendor offerings as their core firm DMS.

When considering SharePoint 2007, also take a look at products from XMLAW, Handshakeand Coras Works. SharePoint is a great portal platform, but certainly isn't law firm ready out of the box.
